I just got back from an amazing weekend at the Avalon with one of my really good friends, Maria! By the way, she also runs a really amazing blog as well, be sure to go check her out and give her some love. But anyways, we spent the entire weekend at the Avalon, and I thought I would share everything that we got into!
Atlanta is becoming a really cool and interesting city, you no longer have to go downtown for entertainment, drinks and that city life feeling. So to avoid all of the traffic and do something new, we decided to go hang out at the Avalon for a couple of days. Check out our journey and get some really cool ideas for some stuff that you can do in Alpharetta.
Shopping at the Avalon
The Avalon is a huge outdoor shopping mall, restaurant filled place of amazingness (I don’t even know if that made sense). But they have some great shopping opportunities. Anthropology, Banana Republic, Free People, Urban Outfitters and Paper Source are just a few of my favorite places to stop by and do a little shopping. These are some of my favorite stores for simple, timeless and fun outfits. I get just about all of my office wear from Banana. I love Paper Source for organization items, that store is pretty much my happy place.
Eating at the Avalon
We were at the Avalon for the full weekend so we ate a ton! We never felt like we had a shortage of options, becuase there are so many places to choose from. First, we stopped for a coffee and snack at Cafe Intermesso. We both got coffees and tried the hummus, and let me just say that I am not the biggest hummus fan, but I loved this! I actually live really close to another Cafe Intermesso, so I might be stopping by more often to grab some.
Around lunch time we wanted to get some drinks flowing and grab some food. We decided to stop at Cru Food & Wine Bar. They have wine flights which was very unique and cool to me. I am used to beer flights, but wine flights… sign me up! I tried one of their rose flights, I probably could have ordered two flights, that’s how much I enjoyed it. For my meal I got one of the wraps, but we tried the lobster and shrimp potstickers, which I would recommend to anyone! The Avalon was also dog friendly! My boyfriend brought Bentley up to eat with us and Bentley just loved all of the attention he was getting from the other dogs and people.
For dinner we went to South City Kitchen at The Hotel at Avalon. There are a few other South City Kitchen locations around Atlanta, but each has a slightly different menu. I tried one of they most popular dishes, the fried chicken. Amazing meal but huge, had I known it was going to be so big I would have held back on my appetizer a little bit.
Staying at the Avalon
We booked a beautiful room at The Hotel at Avalon to crash at after all of our activities. The hotel was beautiful! Every area of the hotel was picture perfect. We spent most of the later afternoon by the pool, sipping on some cocktails before heading down to South City Kitchen for dinner.
After dinner we completely failed at a girls night. After a day full of shopping and eating we were pooped! But we cannot wait to book another girls weekend up at the Avalon. I might even book a staycation for my boyfriend and I one weekend as well!
