I visit New York quite a bit, but it wasn’t until a recent trip that I got to actually walk the Brooklyn Bridge. It was so amazing. I walked it with my cousin, and neither of us knew what to expect. There were vendors on either side of the bridge selling paintings, tourist stopping every five feet to take pictures (like me) and serious users of the bridge that were riding bikes or exercising. We started the Brooklyn Bridge on the Manhattan side and worked our way to Brooklyn. By the way, there is a cute little lobster shack on the other side of the bridge called Luke’s Lobster Brooklyn Bridge Park.
Before the Brooklyn Bridge, we stopped by the stairs at the Met so that I could get the infamous Gossip Girl photo. Surprisingly, this was also the first time that I visited the Met. Usually when I go to NYC I am visiting family or there for work so there isn’t much time for the touristy things (but if you need a couple of touristy things to do, definitely consider a pop up).
As a first time tourist, I wanted to be sure that I was comfortable, just in case there was a lot of unplanned walking. I went with a layered look and my ride of die Converse (I really need to start exploring some other sneakers).
